Compuware, an IT software company, approached the College for Creative Studies to help redefine their culture. Six students were selected to research, analyze, and execute strategy for Compuware. We concluded that at Compuware the software and culture were inextricably intertwined. We reasoned that if we made a disruptive software interface we could help re-shape the culture. We then wireframed, designed, prototyped, and refined an interface that would be presented to the executives at Compuware in order to see that design methodology could make a difference at Compuware.
The book chronicles the journey of Compuware/CCS through several intern projects and serves as a reference to those seeking an understanding of some of the basic design principles.
